It's nice when we see another good conservative tell us what she thinks about the failed, un-re-electable, core-valueless, indecisive, anti-Semite, anti-gay Chuck Hagel and that's certainly the case when we find something by Phyllis Schafly.

The Wrong Man for Defense Secretary

by Phyllis Schlafly on February 7, 2013

"Americans who are concerned about traditional freedoms and the Second Amendment have no difficulty understanding the message of the popular bumper strip: “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” It should be just as easy to grasp the corollary: If nukes are outlawed, only terrorist countries will have nukes.

But somehow, Barack Obama and Chuck Hagel don’t get it. In a 2007 campaign speech, Obama promised: “Here’s what I’ll say as president: America seeks a world in which there are no nuclear weapons.”

Chuck Hagel is listed as one of six directors of a dangerous group called “Global Zero U.S. Nuclear Policy Commission.” This mischievous outfit’s goal is “to move toward a world without nuclear weapons,” and its publications boast Obama’s enthusiastic endorsement: “Global Zero will always have a partner in me and my administration.”

Here are a few of Global Zero’s specific recommendations: replace our offensive nuclear missiles with what they call “soft” instruments of power such as multilateral cooperation, reduce the number of our nuclear missiles further than what Obama agreed to when the Senate ratified the New START Treaty in 2011, eliminate “all tactical nuclear weapons” and our “Minuteman land-based ICBM force,” and announce “reciprocal presidential directives” (Obama is a specialist at issuing unilateral directives).

Here are a couple of the really silly statements in Global Zero’s report: “security is mainly a state of mind, not a physical condition,” and “nuclear weapons have increasingly become liabilities, not assets.” The Global Zero report includes a lame endorsement of anti-missile defense, but it’s clear that modernizing our missile defense system is not a priority, maybe not even wanted by the group.

Global Zero isn’t Hagel’s only dalliance in the search for a nuclear-free world. He also serves on the board of the Ploughshares Fund, a George Soros-funded group that advocates getting rid of our nuclear weapons.

The Ploughshares Fund is downright serious about getting rid of U.S. nuclear weapons. It urges massive decreases in our defense capabilities and slashing the U.S. nuclear force to only 292 deployed missiles. It promotes global governance — no surprise there — and also opposes U.S. development of a missile-defense system.

Ploughshares contributes to many anti-war and anti-nuclear groups that criticize U.S. foreign policy and military. It is a big backer of the Connect U.S. Fund (CUSF), which promotes global governance and tries to direct global policy by “grant-making on human rights, non-proliferation, and climate change.”

CUSF calls for massive slashes in our military budget so that U.S. money can be spent on “sustainable energy,” financing a “green stimulus,” and combating “climate change as a security threat.” Other CUSF projects include urging U.S. troops overseas to wear the UN’s blue helmets, using the U.S. Armed Forces to take on the task of fighting “global warming” and “global poverty,” and stationing U.S. “peacekeeping” forces worldwide.

Chuck Hagel sits on the board of a fund that is the main financial backer of a globalist group urging the United States to join the U.N.’s International Criminal Court. There are many reasons why this is a dangerous idea, but one of the most obnoxious is that this UN Court could prosecute American citizens and soldiers for alleged “war crimes” and other anti-American accusations.

Hagel also showed his globalist philosophy by supporting the UN Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). Fortunately, the U.S. has never ratified LOST; in December it proved its threat to national sovereignty by overruling the high court of Ghana with a decision that is domestically enforceable in that country and not subject to any appeal.

It’s no wonder that the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Jim Inhofe (R-OK), announced he could not vote to confirm Hagel as Defense Secretary because Hagel is philosophically opposed to vital issues affecting our national security. These issues concern our spending, our international engagement, and particularly our nuclear modernization.

Senator Inhofe added: “At a time when North Korea is threatening our allies with nuclear capabilities, and Iran continues to pursue a nuclear weapon and the means to deliver it, the security of our own nation and of our allies requires us to be vigilant with our own nuclear weapons and defense systems.” Senator Inhofe is exactly right: America needs a Secretary of Defense who values and upholds U.S. sovereignty and military superiority."

Does Bob Kerrey Take His Marching Orders From Moveon.org?

Certainly sounds like Cosmic Bob is taking his marching orders and ideas from the folks at Moveon.org.     Although Bobby would like to make those superpacs legitimized by the Citizens United Supreme Court decision of 2010 illegal, the truth of the matter is that he is seeking DESPERATELY to find some kind of an issue that Nebraskans might be able to relate to buck up what is looking like a terrible November loss for him and any semblance of an image and legacy that he might have had from his prior service as governor and a U.S. Senator.

And now he has an ally and mentor in Moveon.org which wants to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.    We wonder if he would support an all-inclusive amendment to take union influence and money out of political races?   Of course not because that might destroy the huge advantage Democrats have had for decades.

Kerrey is nothing more than a liberal puppet controlled by the strings of Harry Reid, Barack Obama, George Soros and Moveon.org.  His fall opponent, Senator Deb Fischer, need only ask what Kerrey will don when any of those folks call?    Obviously, given his secret deal with Harry Reid and his need to at least coalesce his liberal support he's already doing it.

Here's what his Moveon.org support group wants him and us to do:
Dear MoveOn member,

A huge majority of voters—nearly 3 out of 4—want to limit the influence of big money in our elections.1

But many politicians haven't taken a stand yet. At both the state and federal level, we simply don't know who's with us.Sometimes, they've just never been asked.

So MoveOn members are hitting the phones today, asking every member of Congress and state legislator to support a big, bold idea—a constitutional amendment to get big money out of politics. It's the only way to permanently reverse Citizens United, end corporate personhood, and limit the influence of money in our democracy.

If we all pitch in, by this time next week we could have hundreds more elected officials backing an amendment—from senators and representatives all the way to state legislators, who matter because an amendment would have to pass in the states as well as in Congress.

Can you call and ask your elected officials: "Will you support a constitutional amendment to get big money out of politics for good?"

Here's where to call:
State Senator Steve Lathrop
Phone: (402) 471-2623"

Soro or ALEC: Whom Would the Founders Support? -- Doug Patton

Who would the Founding Fathers have trusted with the future of the nation they created, George Soros or ALEC? And just who (or what), you may be asking yourself, is ALEC? Well, I’m glad you asked. And don’t feel ill informed, because until a few months ago, ALEC was not on my radar screen, either.

ALEC is an acronym for "American Legislative Exchange Council." It was started by conservative activist and icon Paul Weyrich in 1973 and now bills itself as "the nation’s largest nonpartisan individual membership association of state legislators, with over 2,000 state legislators across the nation and more than 100 alumni members in Congress." ALEC’s leadership says its mission promotes "free markets, limited government and federalism throughout the states."

Sounds good to me, but I can certainly see why they are so vilified by the loony left.

My introduction to the group came about when a local television station in my area featured an "in-depth expose" of the "shadowy outside organization" that supposedly was trying to rewrite state laws all over the country, apparently to suit its nefarious ends.

And what sort of terrible legislation was ALEC pushing? They favor a number of reasonable proposals despised by liberals — pro-2nd Amendment gun laws, market-based health care solutions, energy independence initiatives — but the one that has progressives in their most recent snit is legislation requiring identification in order to vote. This, of course, does not fit in with their left-wing agenda to pack the voting booths of America with people who do not belong there, especially illegal aliens who, it is anticipated, will vote for another round of "hope and change."

So I started wondering which would arouse a greater degree of ire among the Founders, ALEC or that world-class leftist demagogue, George Soros. A perusal of the views and goals of each gave me an obvious answer.

ALEC is an association of businessmen who, having determined that the federal government as it is currently configured is the greatest enemy of free enterprise in the history of the nation, have chosen to band together and defend their livelihood by collaborating with like-minded state legislators to create legislation within constitutional parameters. Period.

George Soros is a one-man, anti-American wrecking crew who hates everything the United States represents, from its Constitution to its venerable institutions to its people. With billions of dollars at his disposal, mostly of it accumulated through the questionable manipulation of currencies around the world, Soros’ favorite causes read like a who’s who of leftist organizations. Here is just a partial list: ACORN; the Apollo Alliance; National Council of La Raza; the Tides Foundation; the Huffington Post; the Southern Poverty Law Center; Soujourners; People for the American Way; Planned Parenthood; and the National Organization for Women.

Soros has also been a major backer of Media Matters for America, a liberal supposedly non-profit media group. Founded by David Brock and largely funded by Soros, this organization has openly declared war on the Fox News Channel. Brock calls what he is doing to the cable network "guerrilla warfare and sabotage," and his talking points are regularly used by the Obama mouthpieces at MSNBC. (And the critics of ALEC say they are outside the bounds of their 501(c) (3) status!)

Other recipients of Soros money have been MoveOn.org, the left wing group that compared George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler and called Gen. David Petraeus "General Betray Us," and the Center for American Progress, headed by Bill Clinton's former chief of staff, John Podesta. This organization has a revolving door with the Obama administration.

Finally, former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones' environmental extremism has enjoyed Soros funding through the Ella Baker Center, Green For All, the Center for American Progress and the Apollo Alliance, which was a key player in obtaining $110 billion in green initiatives included in Obama's stimulus package.

So I leave it to you. Who do you think would get a thumbs up from Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and the boys — George Soros or ALEC?

Moveon Social Action Training Coming to Omaha

We think it's important that conservatives not sit back waiting to cast their vote to replace the current occupant of the White House in November or wait for the Supreme Court to hopefully find Obamacare unconstitutional.

The Democrats, the 'progressives', the liberals certainly aren't taking anything for granted as they try to indoctrinate their 'storm troopers' for what is coming.

In fact, even in Omaha, NE the Moveon.org crowd, funded by George Soros and the Obama team are moving ahead to brainwash and activate their troops.    If you don't believe so, you might check the following which came to us in our 'We Get Email' category today.

"Dear MoveOn member,

America has a long history of everyday people standing up for justice by taking courageous direct action—from the great Flint sit-down strike, to the bus boycotts and lunch counter sit-ins of the civil rights movement, to last year's protests in Wisconsin and at Occupy Wall Street.

But these courageous social justice leaders didn't just know what to do—they were trained in how to take direct action. This spring, MoveOn members and our allies are organizing these trainings at a scale never seen before. You should join in!

We're coming together from every corner of our movement to provide in-depth direct action training to 100,000 people from April 9 to 15. The goal is to pave the way for a 99% Spring filled with a huge wave of progressive direct action nationwide. Some of the best trainers in the country have been working for weeks to put together a powerful interactive training experience and the folks who've already participated say it's electrifying.

You'll pick up crucial action skills that are hard to come by, work with your neighbors to dream up alternatives to an economy that's leaving most of us behind, and work together to organize powerful actions to directly take on the 1%.
There's a training in Omaha on Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012, at 10:00 AM, can you join in?

Yes, count me in!

Our movement will be holding huge rallies in every major city on Tax Day to call out the 1% who refuse to pay their fair share. We'll be gathering massive crowds to confront CEOs and top executives at annual shareholder meetings of Wall Street banks, dirty energy polluters, and corporations that refuse to treat workers fairly. And we'll be doing everything we can to call out the corrupting influence of corporate money on our elections.

At the training in Omaha, you'll get prepared to take part in these bold actions and to build connections with other progressives who want to see a 99% Spring in America.
We'll practice telling the story of what happened to our economy and what a different future could look like, we'll learn the history of nonviolent direct action, and we'll train and plan to take direct action ourselves—in the footsteps of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.—to win change.

By the end of the training we'll be ready to join the legacy of people using direct action to transform the political landscape in this country.

Will you join the 99% Spring action training in Omaha on Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012, at 10:00 AM?
Thanks for all you do.
