Return to Parity? Yes, indeed, if Nebraska State Senator Beau McCoy is successful in doing away with the silly method it adopted in the 1990s of awarding electoral votes. McCoy has introduced LB 777 to return Nebraska to a 'winner takes all' electoral vote. Other than Nebraska, only the State of Maine allows for split electoral college votes.Nebraska awards its five electoral votes by giving two to the statewide presidential winner and one from each of it's congressional districts to the presidential winner of that district. This whole bad idea originated and was driven by former leftist liberal state senator DiAnna Schimek.
The leftist liberal lawyers like State Senator Heath Mello and head of the state Democrat Party Vic Covalt say that such a change is just sour grapes since the state actually gave one of its five votes to Prince of Peace Nobel Laureate President of the World of Equal Nations Commissar Barack Hussein Obama in the 2008 election. Maybe it is sour grapes but if the process is so good why have 48 other states chosen not to adopt it? If these leftist liberals think its so good for Nebraska why don't they advocate the same for New York and California? Maybe because they'd lose a whole lot more electoral votes if those 'Democrat' states no longer gave all of their votes to the Democrat. No, they'd rather take advantage of Nebraskans' naive fair play populous mentality.
From a Republican Party standpoint, of course this makes sense. Why give away one electoral vote that would traditionally go to the Republican contender? Why encourage the likes of Prince of Peace Nobel Laureate President of the World of Equal Nations Commissar Barack Hussein Obama to send his army of crooked ACORN recruits to Omaha to win that one vote by registering people that don't even exist at addresses that don't even exist? Why should a state whose Republican voters outnumber Democrat ones two to one want to weaken its clout in electing a Republican president?
It's time for a change, sour grapes or not. We hope Senator McCoy is successful in returning Nebraska to parity with other states in how it awards electoral votes. AND WE'LL BE TAKING THE NAMES OF THOSE STATE SENATORS WHO OBSTRUCT OR VOTE AGAINST THE BILL.
