After the Newtown shootings and the NRA's response to them we wonder if there isn't a better to solution for parents across the country who are concerned about the security at their children's school. Why not have parent-volunteers and community volunteers trained on the use of hand guns and let them take shifts at their kids' schools? We do not need to spend more money having some kind of federal program to put armed forces (police or otherwise) in local schools. Local schools are the responsibility of local communities. Arm the parents or the 'school resource officers'.

I agree we absolutely do not need the Feds getting involved in this issue. It's a state issue and I agree with the President of the NRA and PoliceOneNews that there is a pool of retired military, police and security guards who would be willing to volunteer their time to patrol our schools.
My children would not go to a school that did not provide this kind of security.
Just F.Y.I. A lawsuit has been filed against CT for $1 million dollars on behalf of a survivor who said she heard cursing and shots fired over the intercom and that the State's Education Dept failed to provide a safe educational environment.
Objective Conservative Editor: Please check my earlier post I can't remember if I said the lawsuit had been filed for $1 million but if I did that amount is incorrect - the correct amount is $100 million. Sorry about that. Thanks
