Getting to Know Pawlenty

An interesting column in Bloomberg by Albert R. Hunt on on potential Republican candidate for the presidency in 2012, Tim Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota. Might be worth your read at: http://bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aJcczU_RQS.U

Pawlenty has yet to warm the cockles of our heart, but will no doubt be a serious competitor who certainly would be more electeable than Sarah Palin or Mike Huckabee. It's worth taking some time to get to know him.

"Pawlenty certainly would be more electeable than ... Mike Huckabee."

Really, I have nothing against Tim Pawlenty but it is beyond me how you can make such a biased, unsubstantiated and contradictory statement. In every poll thus far, Mike Huckabee does extremely well with independents and across the board in the general public as well as in his own party. As a matter of fact, in PPP's recent polling, he gets the best net favorable rating of all other republican candidates and is only three points behind Obama well within the MOE. (I agree with you with respect to Sarah Palin.)

Look, push Tim if you want -- I like him also, although I am voting for Huckabee, if he runs (maybe Tim if Huckabee doesn't run), and I certainly wouldn't mind Tim on a Huckabee ticket. But dont' lie about my guy, okay? In every single poll, he has the best net favorable ratings. It would be best for Tim if you do not infuriate Huckabee supporters.

I have no doubt that the OC editor/contributor can speak for himself / herself! However, calling someone a "liar" is more than a little over the top. What is it about the statement "Pawlenty has yet to warm the cockles of our heart" does the prior commentor not under-stand? Also, it appears that the comment about Palen and Huckabee is merely a subjective opinion, and thus open to discussion, not the ludicrous charge of "lying"!!
