The Omaha College World Series Stadium

Seems there is not a lot of unanimity on the College World Series Stadium plans when it comes to retail space. Yesterday the Urban Design Review Board frustrated Roger Dixon, MECA's president by sending him back for more retail design considerations.

Just a couple of thoughts: 1) While Rosenblatt needed to be replaced and while this was the
area to move it, the stadium should have been on the Union Pacific
site, not in the Qwest parking lot.
2) Only government can afford to build a facility whose primary use
is for two weeks of the year.

While I agree on the location, that was not the problem. The city sold a bill of goods to the people when they failed to keep the Omaha Royals by not waiving parking or discount it. They lied when they are not getting retail into the stadium to the business that built around the proposed area. They lied to Creighton who expanded in that direction.
